MagCulture founder Jeremy Leslie and regular contributor Andrew Losowsky are collaborating on a magazine making project that’s just a little bit special. First and foremost, the magazine will be published in support of inspirational creative director Bob Newman who was taken seriously ill in Florida in March. All profits from the publication will go to the Friends of Bob Newman fund to help his family with his “care and recovery”.
Second, the content will be crowdsourced from magazine community and should prove to be a fascinating read. Published as a print-on-demand project through MagCloud, The Magculture blog describes it as a “fast, one-off publication with the working title ‘My Favorite Magazine’. Anything goes – print, digital; old, new; and from anywhere in the world.
Your brief should you choose to get involved is to pick your favourite magazine issue and tell the team about it. Along with your 100-500 word write up, you need to submit a couple of hi-res photos (no more than three, and at least one should be of the magazine cover). Go here on the MagCulture blog to see complete instructions. The deadline is May 30th 2013, get a wiggle on.
